In our ongoing efforts to best serve our clients, we want to make everyone aware of a recent security upgrade to your service.


This weekend ExcalTech will be upgrading the Barracuda Spam Filtering services we provide. When the upgrade completes, access to the daily quarantine will now require your password to login and view. Here is the official statement from Barracuda:

As a result of a security vulnerability, customers updating to firmware version will experience a change in behavior to quarantine notification emails. End users will no longer have the ability to click on a link in the quarantine notification email to log directly into a quarantine inbox without the use of a password. Please notify your end users of this change before updating the firmware on your Email Security Gateway.

Finding Your Password

If you only access the quarantine from the daily email reports, you may not be aware that your account has a password. Passwords can be customized, but if you haven’t changed yours, it is a unique password to your account that Barracuda creates on the fly.

To access your password, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Barracuda Spam Filter here:
  2. Enter your email address in the field.
  3. Click on the ‘Create New Password’ button.
